1. ALWAYS use a brush when you apply your foundation and concealer. Up until now I have always just used my hands to put on my concealer, which is ok, but definitely not preferable. Using a brush makes blemishes disapper alot better because it goes over them instead of rubbing into them. It also blends it better so you can't tell you're wearing as much makeup. Trust me when I say that my skin is NOWHERE near blemish-free right now, but it's alot harder to tell now!
Also, when you buy foundation/power/cover up, make sure it's only a tad bit darker than your actual skin color. If it's too dark or too light you will definitely be able to tell!
3. When you do your eyeshadow, make sure that you don't put any dark colors on the inside corners of your eyes. You can if you're going for more of an evening/darker look, but putting a lighter color in the corners will make your eyes look bigger, brighter, and more awake You can either have just your base color there, or do like I did and put an extra light and shimmery color there.
4. Recently I haven't been using eyeliner. Since I've been doing darker eyeshadow, I don't want to be TOO overdone. I've simply been taking a smaller brush, wetting it, and then using black eyeshadow to line my eyes. It creates a much softer look, and it also stays and doesn't smear as much as eyeliner (I did my makeup at 7:00 this morning, and took this picture 12 hours later! No smearing!!). Occasionally I will line my inner eye with eyeliner, but I wouldn't really recommend doing that if you have really sensitive eyes or unsteady hands.
5. When putting on mascara, ONLY DIP YOUR BRUSH ONCE! Alot of girls dip their brush three or four times into the bottle. This is completely unneccesary. I find that this is what makes mascara clump. All you have to do is pull the wand out of the bottle, apply to one eye, rotate the brush, and use the product that is still on the other side. Plain and simple. Also, when you apply it start as close to the root of your eyelashes as possible, and wiggle the brush as you pull out. This will seperate your lashes to make them look fuller, and help to avoid clumpage (is that a word?).
6. Last but not least: If you're going with a more dramatic eye, make sure you keep lip color to a minimum (unless you're going out in the evening). Otherwise you will look much to over done.
Wow! You are gorgeous! But, you are without makeup on too. Thanks for tips too. I will give some of them a try.
