The Path Ahead

Wow. Only two weeks left in Washington D.C. The whole thing has gone by so fast, it feels like a dream. Isn't it strange how some days seem to drag on and you can't wait for them to end, but in the big scheme of things those hard days are forgotten and they simply blend in to the other days in a week, a month, or a year?

I won't lie, when these two weeks are up I will be more than happy to return home and then eventually back to Anderson. My experiences here are ones that I will never forget, but I've realized more than ever that I am a conservative country girl at heart. I've had my time in the big city, have experienced it to the fullest, and am ready to say goodbye. I'm ready to go back to the places that hold the people I love.

Of course there will be things about the city that I miss, mainly the amount of culture-- and when I say culture I mean the opportunities to be cultured by museums, art, theater, etc. That's something that is irreplaceable, especially for an art student. But there comes a point when all of that doesn't actually matter and life becomes more about family, friends, and living life instead of admiring the work of another man's life.

I'm ready for the next chapter of my life to start. I only have a year and half left of college (wow, seeing those words takes my breath away), and I want to enjoy the to the utmost. I can't say I'm completely ready for the future, and want to relish in my bubble of innocence for a bit longer, but I do think that I will be more prepared for that future when it comes because of my experiences over the last three and half months.

I can't wait to see all of you very soon! Until next time... :)

.....Oh, one more thing-- I'm trying to decide whether or not to keep my blog after I leave here. Thoughts??
